Donna S. M. Neff, T.E.P. B.A. (Hon.), LL.B.
Lawyer & Notary Public
Donna is passionate about her role as a wills, estates and trusts lawyer and provides exceptional service to our clients. In addition to estate planning and estate administration services, Donna and her team complete specific real estate transactions for clients. Through trust, honesty, and a commitment to excellence, she has developed long-term relationships.
As an owner of her own businesses (as a lawyer since 1996 and previously, as a consultant and project manager in the high tech industry), Donna has gained personal experience regarding the issues that small business owners face. Although her clients include singles, couples, families, and seniors, Donna has a particular interest in individuals with a disability as she has experienced such needs within her own family. She has been invited to present estate-planning seminars to a wide range of corporate and community groups such as the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre (OCTC), the Women's Education Business Breakfast (WEBB), WEB Lanark, the Ottawa Public Library, the Women's Institute, Epilepsy (Ontario) Ottawa-Carleton, Lifetime Networks Ottawa, Schizophrenia Society, CARE Canada, and EMS Satcom.
She obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Waterloo in 1976 and after becoming a distinguished teacher and consultant, returned to school to complete her law degree in 1994 at the University of Ottawa. Her designation as a Trusts and Estates Practitioner was awarded in 2001.
Donna has been active in her community serving on various boards of community organizations.
She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Ontario Bar Association, Carleton County Law Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the American Bar Association Law Practice Management section.
Donna regularly attends seminars and workshops to keep her legal knowledge current.
Donna is married with two grown children and a grandson. She enjoys outdoor activities (kayaking, hiking, camping, sailing, swimming) and Scottish Country Dancing. Donna lives with her husband, dog and cat in an 1870's stone house in rural Ottawa.
